The man who never lied
The man who never lied
In an earlier time, Mamad was a wise man. Never did he lie. He was known to everybody in the land, even the people who lived twenty days away.
The king ordered his subjects to bring Mamad to the palace when he found out about him. He turned to the wise man and asked:
Is it true, Mamad, that you have never lied?
"It's true."
"And you will never lie in your entire life?"
"That is certain to me."
"Alright, be honest, but be careful! The deception is clever and easy to explain."
The Lord called Mamad once more after a few days. A huge group accumulated: The ruler was planning a hunting trip. The king was grabbing his horse by the mane while holding his left foot already on the stirrup. He told Mamad:
"Confirm to the sovereign that I will accompany her for lunch at my late spring royal residence." Encourage her to plan a major fight. Then, you and I will dine together.
Mamad knelt and approached the monarch. After that, the king laughed and said:
"Now that we won't go hunting, Mamad will lie to the queen. We will chuckle for the good of he tomorrow."
Regardless, the shrewd Mamad went to the royal palace and said:
"You should or shouldn't prepare a substantial lunch for tomorrow. By noon, the king might or might not show up.
"Let me know if he will come or not?" - inquired the monarch.
"I don't know if he put his left foot on the ground or his right foot on the stirrup after I left."
Everyone patiently awaited the Lord. He showed up the following day and informed the queen:
"The wise Mamad, who never lies, lied to you yesterday."
But the queen told him about Mamad's words. And the king realized that the wise man never lied and always stated what he had seen.
